The Area
The Strand is the riverside area of Rye and is made up of a mixture of antiques shops, restaurants and bars. It is probably the liveliest and most vibrant part of the town and close to some of the best tourist areas. There is also a farmers market on a Wednesday and other events that take place in the Strand area. The photo to the left above is a view from the top balcony of Quayside House and shows just how centrally located the accommodation is. Within one minutes walk you can be on either Mermaid street or the High street both of which are packed with interesting shops. Alternatively, you can enjoy a nice picnic by the river.
